Terms of Use - Tape Measure

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Tape Measure mobile application ("the App") provided by The App, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Tape Measure Is

Tape Measure is an augmented-reality (AR) measuring app for iPhone. The App uses your iPhone camera and Apple's ARKit framework to estimate distances, areas, heights, angles, and other dimensions in the real world. It includes an AR ruler, spirit level, area calculator, height measurement, 3D measurement, angle finder, TV sizer, and additional tools.

Important Disclaimer About Accuracy

Tape Measure provides approximate measurements only. The App uses computer vision and motion-tracking, which depend on lighting, surface texture, distance to the object, the quality of your device's camera and sensors, and how steady you hold the device. Results may vary between sessions, between devices, and even between two consecutive measurements of the same object.

Tape Measure is not a substitute for a physical measuring tool. Do not rely on the App for:

Construction, structural, engineering, or architectural work.
Legal, regulatory, real-estate, or contractual measurements.
Medical, fitness, or anatomical measurements.
Safety-critical decisions of any kind.
Cutting, drilling, welding, or any irreversible action where exact dimensions matter.

For any task where precision matters, please verify with a physical measuring tape, ruler, laser distance meter, or a licensed professional. You are responsible for verifying every measurement before acting on it.

Safe Use

Using the App involves pointing your iPhone camera at the real world and walking around. Please:

Be aware of your surroundings — do not measure while walking in traffic, on ladders, on stairs, near edges, or in any hazardous environment.
Hold your device securely with both hands when possible.
Do not use the App while driving or operating any vehicle or machinery.
Respect others' privacy — do not point the camera into private spaces or at people without consent.

You are responsible for using the App safely and in a way that does not harm yourself, others, or your device.

License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent these restrictions are not allowed by applicable law.

Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Tape Measure is free to download and use. The core measuring tools are free, with no time limits and no account required.

Certain advanced or specific features may be offered as an optional in-app subscription ("Premium"). If you choose to subscribe, the following terms apply:

Payment. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price displayed at the time of purchase.
Managing your subscription. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Cancellation of the current active subscription period is not allowed during the active period.
Pricing & plans. Subscription length, price, and features are displayed in the App at the point of purchase. Prices may vary by region.
Free trial. If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before it ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Privacy. Subscription handling is performed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

No Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of measurements, and any warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any specific result.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The App, Inc. and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, property damage, personal injury, damages from inaccurate measurements, damages from actions taken based on measurements produced by the App, or any other damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App.

Our total liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App, which for a free app is zero dollars.

Apple App Store Terms

If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, these Terms control, except where Apple's EULA is more restrictive.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
